International Masters EE

This information is meant for students with a bachelor degree from a foreign university.

The Masters programme takes 2 years and is taught in English. There are 5 specialisations under the 'umbrella' of Electrical Engineering. The Department participates in two (English) Master programmes together with other Departments.

The programmes are filled with courses and projects.
Courses generally will consist of a few number of bridging courses to overcome gaps between the preceding education and the master programme, while the other courses are the elective courses. Electives offer the possibility for both broadening your scope and specialisation.
Generally there are two projects:
The first is an Individual project normally done in the first part of the program. This project is meant as an exercise for the second project, the Master thesis project, that is the finishing part of the program. You work on a subject derived from current research, in an independent way, but of course with a supervising committee, that guides you.

The Masters programmes are highly individualised. Depending on the background of the student, a selection of compulsory courses is prescribed, followed by a selection specific for the specialisation.

Quality evaluation of all EE programmes in The Netherlands in 03/04 has shown that the average  score of the programme in Twente, including the report that formed the basis of the evaluation,  clearly was the best: 7.4 while the other programmes were rated with 6.9, on a 10-point scale. The result was based on 14 quality aspects.

National inquiries over the last 4 years among the students of all EE programmes also gave the programme in Twente the highest ranking.
